The Research Unit on Asymmetric Synthesis (URSA in Catalan) is a research group from the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) located at the Parc CientÃfic de Barcelona.
The group is led by Drs. Antoni Riera and Xavier Verdaguer, professors of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Barcelona. The group’s main activity is the enantioselective synthesis of compounds with biological activity. The objectives of our studies are the development of new synthetic sequences based on enantioselective reactions, as well as the development of new asymmetric synthetic methodologies.
